If you're only going to do the bass drum, a PCB would be over-kill.
The circuit is really very simple - one dual op-amp, 6 transistors, and a
handful of passives.

I got photocopied schematics from Roland and built a whole 808 from them, so
you should get on fine.
If you ever get round to doing the rimshot/claves, the missing value of R324
is 100k.
