Yes, this is more or less what I was thinking of. My memory is still
not great as regards electronics things, so I read a lot of "obvious"
theory over and over again. I was just reading a bit about voltage
dividers at:
My only confusion was figuring out, from those figures, what sort of
voltage I'd want the output to be! A quick search on DC blocking
quickly reminded me that this is exactly why circuits often do output
through a capacitor. Hadn't I seen switchable caps on the outputs of
quite a few mixers and envelope generators?
Reading does help me to learn, but the real learning is in the doing -
otherwise I simply can't remember the disassociated information. Makes
me feel dense at times! Now how to make time enough to do more...
I was actually just thinking of a 1uF cap through a 1k resistor to
ground, but was pondering what I'd want the first resistor value to be.
This is seems to yield a safe signal for most any gear, so I will
likely give it a try. Thank you for the suggestion, Ian!
