Yeah there is,  and it's wrapped up in one word -- significance.

It's like those gas pumps when I fuel up,  do they *really* measure to a 
thousandth of a gallon?  Could we tell if they did?  Does it matter?

Well,  maybe if you're one of those golden-ear audiophile dudes,  or 
something...    :-)
