If you can find two pieces of molding with the right contour (1/4 circle)
you can put them together to create the U-shaped channel. Although 3cm
sounds pretty deep. Could you build up the sides with two straight pieces
of wood?

Know anyone with a shaper or a table-mounted router and a variety of bits?
