I met Limor at AHNE and played with the prototype x0xb0x's she brought. I've
never played with a real 303 so I don't know how close the sound is to the
original. Too bad she only brought headphones - it would've been nice to hear it
through an amp. She is trying to use all original components. We talked for a
while about the difficulty of sourcing obsolete trannies. One of the two she
brought had a frosted and etched plastic front panel. Production front panels
are aluminum but the plastic one was cool looking. The build quality seemed
pretty good. Its a nice machine.

Not quite .. from the website I see they use a BA6110 OTA instead of
BA662 which is not quite the same (but this is only for the VCA so
perhaps it's not too critical).
Also I suspect that some of the currently available transistors may not
be 100% the same as those in the original 303. For example the website
says the x0xb0x uses the 2SK30A JFET, but in my 303 schemo there is used
the 2SK30(O) and 2SK30(Y).
Nevertheless it looks like an admirable effort - the audio samples do
sound good, I would say _almost_ as nice as a real 303 - but that's a
subjective opinion, and remember that actual 303s themselves can vary
quite considerably in sound.
