Yes, I'd forgotten that!
There are two S/H modes on the SH-2000 - Auto or Keyed. Auto simply puts
the VCA on all the time, and Keyed lets the keyboard trigger the VCA
envelope - but the keyboard CV has no effect on the pitch of the S/H VCO
modulation.
So why couldn't they have still just added the initial keyboard CV as it
occurred, forgetting about the 'hold' aspect needed for melodic playing?
This is undoubtedly a very naive question ;o)
