   I don't know if anyone has done any measuring (I certainly haven't), 
but using a chip tempco probably follows the PCB temp very closely (after 
all it's small and is pretty much in direct contact with it.  So I would 
think that having  the tranny glued to the PCB in relative proximity 
might be just as effective.
   The only drawback, I guess is if you have any tranny self-heating, 
which you would then want to transfer to the tempco...
   Any thoughts?
