[sdiy] Keyboard suggestions

I gave up trying to fix my Kurzweil Mark 3. I bought the electronics for
$5 and managed to get the schematics but there were errors and I had no
diagnostics. In parting it out I want to reuse the keyboard. It turns out
that the keyboard controller is a separate board that outputs MIDI. So, by
adding a 5 volt supply I can have an 88 note weighted keyboard with
velocity, MIDI channel 1, with two pedals, mod and pitch wheel. There is
also a spare MIDI slider and transpose switch that I probably won't use.

What I'm trying to decide is whether to build a MIDI or CV keyboard, and
whether I should replace the controller or add a MIDI post processor for
more features. At a minimum I just need to make a wooden case for it.

What features would you want in a keyboard? I'm open to suggestions.
