Since the subject of computer keyboards came up in here, I thought I'd toss
this out...
Taking the small board found in a lot of those, a little examination shows
connector pins that went to the switch matrix that allowed for something like
a 7x8 matrix, or 128 possible keys?
Junk keyboards are fairly easy to come by, and it's not at all a big deal to
remove the little board and toss the rest of it. Particularly those units
where the "switches" were mylar sheets with aluminum foil (?) "traces" on
them.
Seems to me that this would be a pretty easy way to interface a whole mess of
switches, if you've got something with a nontrivial digital component in it
anyhow.
Your thoughts on this?
