Hell yeah he's around. Kicking ass, as well.
His research bleeds into his Audio Engineering classes. I think our
class was one of the first to implement his Zobel matching network
designs for drivers & his Low-TIM Leach Amp. Amazing work. Walkign
down the halls of the ECE department and hearing what is absolutely
the highest clarity sounds i've ever heard (of 30s big band tunes)
resonating from his office is a real treat.

Leach's class was one of the last classes I took at GT (my last
semester). I had approached him about synthesis concepts, but that's
not his focus (he's far more interested in accurate sound
*reproduction* and *amplification*, not generation). However, during
this discussion, he started to draw a circuit & asked if I had ever
seen it. He started drawing the classic Moog transistor ladder
filter, and I immediately jumped with glee. Turns out he had no idea
what it would be used for, but he understood all the dynamics &
characteristics of it. Once I told him what it was, it clicked w/him,
and he proceeded to explain just wtf was going on inside it.

Which is funny, since asking him "how the crap does the moog filter
work" was #1 on my agenda to talk to him about, but he beat me to the
punch.
