John Peatman's a member of my department; I just met him a couple of 
months ago (we have around 120 faculty in ECE at Tech, 1,900 undergrads, 
and 900 grad students - that's just in ECE!!!! So after three years I've 
still only met a little over half the deparment). Really really great 
guy. He teaches a microcontroller course based on his book.

I gave my "40 years of music synthesizers" talk again as a grad seminar, 
and invited some faculty; John came, which was very encouraging. I'm 
trying to encourage people to synth-related 4006 (our senior design 
project class) projects.
