Hi Crow....
I'm restoring a Gentle Electric GE-101 pitch to voltage converter. Resurection
is a better word, since I bought it 'as-is' and that was apparently AFTER
someone
reversed the power supply at some time (and blew about every IC in the
thing)...
I have one board up and running, but the second board with the POTTED MODULE
is dead. So I have to figure out the 2.5" x 2.5" x 1/2" black epoxy coated
"slab o' fun"
I have (with a chisel) uncovered the PCB with little enough damage to trace
the
board. Three opamps (looks like) and some discretes. I hope the Carl Fravel
was
not a REAL dick, and did not fly any components up in the epoxy. :^P I don't
think that
is the case.
Module has five pins, +/- supply, ground, input, output. Should be a
"fundamental
extractor" but other than that I have no clue yet as to the technique.
So (Crow)... what should I use to melt the epoxy. You HAVE been there before,
haven't
you :^P
