I look at it this way. :)
The guy is a professional and likes the instrument.
I do this sort of work and costs are not being haggled over.
Everyday there's talentless people buying gear for far more than this 
service will cost and for more than their expendable budgets will 
often allow.
In this case, the man is a pro, has the money and can deduct repairs 
with no problem.
So, if the guy uses it for one track, or even for a few seconds, 
that's what he as an artist felt like doing and paying for. I'm not 
here to question his artistry and it gives me a lot more motivation 
to do a good job, than if the client is putting their synth up on 
Ebay or whatever.

Btw, when I was called on this, I thought it was a Polymoog synthesizer too.
It's not. It's the Polymoog keyboard. No resonator section at all.

I have another, full Polymoog here too.
This was one that Leon Russell gave to his wife.
She didn't like it and it was stored since then- 20+ years.
Lotsa problems, but very nice physical condition. :)
