[sdiy] Best Way to limit control voltage

Larry,

I think the approach for this should depend on your specific
application, your needs and the qualities your care about.

Is the control voltage expected to be used for controlling pitch to
high accuracy? If so, the linearity, gain and offset voltage in the
linear region are going to be really, really important.

How about the accuracy of the clamped voltage? Once clamped, how much
can the output vary with the input voltage?

What should the transition be like? Smooth? Over what range?
Sudden? What sort of transitional glitches are permissible?

Or does any of this matter?

The answers to these will determine the circuit topology to a great
degree, or at least weed out a number of approaches.
