I discovered I needed glasses, when we were troubleshooting a peice of ATE.
After figuring out that a signal was missing, I pulled off a 100+ pin amphenol
connector, and spotted the problem quickly. One of the 22? gage pins was
flatteded and shorting another pin. I had to call over one of the younger troops
to tell me what the pin number was. After finsihing working that problem, I
called the hospital to schedule an eye appointment to fix my problem.

That was just about the time we had moved all our reporting to IBM type
computers. We even had a 10 Meg hard drive!!!

The Mouser catalogs are the worst. I pulled a page out of the IC section to take
with me to my last eye appointment. I figured, as a final test, if I could read
the page then the doc had the prescription right.
