[sdiy] parts storage needed

I use boxes that look quite like the ones you have picture from
AllElectronics, but they have no compartments.  I then get the 12x12 squares
of actual 3M antistatic black foam, the stuff they swear wont break down and
get gooie in 10 years, and punch in a layer of ICs.  then a second layer of
the foam with a little cutout so I can stick in my finger to pull it out,
and punch in more ICs.

I just store bulk ICs in tubes ( I have two tubes of BL3208's taped toegether 
in a cross to ward off errant Harrys ).

Just a heads up, as I found, Radio Shack didnt splurge for good foam for
packing their IC's, so if you have any still in the bubble packaging you may
one to scrape them out and store them some other way...
