[sdiy] 1488 line drivers - anybody got any use?

You could use the 1488/1489 pairs to build long-distance MIDI cable 
transmitter/recievers.  With those drivers, you could reliably run MIDI signals down 
hundreds (or thousands) of feet of audio snake cable (MIDI cables are normally 
limited to about 40 feet before you start having problems).
