The EL panel (in its day) would have had the fastest resopnse (compared
to neon or incandescent).  The LED should, in theory... win

One might make a large area LED array with a diffuser to make an even light
source... the 100,000 hour life would be attractive.

I thought the EL panel just went ober a single cell... are there MANY cells
there ???

(yeah, lazy @ss me, I bet the details are at your site :^)
