[sdiy] Speeding up synth wiring -- ideas?

Hello!

I just got a "real" job (mixed blessing!) and my copious free time isn't so
copious anymore. So, it seems like a good time to ask this:

I seem to spend a huge amount of time dealing with ribbon cable, which I use
to connect my potentiometers, switches, etc to my PCB boards. There must be
a better way. I've tried, sucessfully, using flat .1 cable in pre-cut
lengths, but there's something I don't like about it.. besides that it's
expensive.

Although I don't *mind* sitting in front of the TV, stripping and cutting
wires for hours, are there any shortcuts I can take to speed things up?
Redesigning my modules to use PCB mount potentiometers and switches isn't
really feasible. Is there any way to throw money at the problem? For
instance, does any company sell... like... pre-cut, pre-stripped ribbon
cable? (Or twisted-pair style cable?)

Thanks!
- Bret
