[sdiy] philips oscilloscope, any good?

Yo,

I have recent experience with buying o-scopes om eBay.
The first one arrived packed horribly and its CRT
shattered. It is always a bad sign when the gaping
hole in the side of the box has glass poring out of
it. The shipper made good on the whopping $60. My next
attempt went better, I now have a tek scope with a
really cool blue CRT. Total cost for the chassis and 2
plug-ins about $200.

So the moral of this story is: make sure the person on
the other end is going to pack the tube really well,
and get insurance.
