Some of you may remember that I got a Tek 7854 scope a few weeks back
before I tried to kill myself with bronchitis.
I just wanted to mention that... I got it working finally! Right before I
got sick I made new ROMs for it and wired up a decode circuit and got the
digital section to boot but with an unstable display. Well, tonight I got
the display stable. Captured my first waveform and everything.
It Feels Good to complete something. Another hour or two of work to
get all the lights working and everything and its ready for the bench and
then maybe I can get back to working on Synth stuff again.
Oh, and on a related note... the thing that caused me to head down the I
Need A Decent O-Scope path... The weird problem I was seeing in my
Sequencer circuit was caused by *A BAD TEST LEAD* -grumble-. Seems the
bundle of gator leads I picked up are the cheap chinese variety. Unstead of
actually soldering the wire to the clip they just fold it over and crimp it.
Now I get to waste an hour or so solding them all so this doesnt bite me
again...
