I'm familiar with the phenomenon. I suspect Mr. Johnson is doing some
wishful thinking although I agree with his sentiment. I also suspect his
long-term sales analysis is statistically flawed in this respect but I'll
leave that to the experts--on some other list.

Unfortunately, "oldies" and "classic rock" station here have now sunk to
such a lowest-common-denominator marketing approach that even these
"markets" are now a shadow of their former selves. If nothing else
satellite radio will have a cadre of fed-up listeners eagerly forking over
the monthly fee.

This is all too depressing--let's get back to synths or something.

I have quite an eclectic collection here--most of it not overcompressed.
I've always gone for music I like, period. It can sometimes be found in the
strangest places.

In reference to things mentioned so far I have Zepplin IV and the 12" of "I
Feel Love".
