Wow... since I've always thought of VGA monitors in relation to
computers, it hadn't occured to me that these are analog also. VGA also
offers far better resolution than NTSC does. I don't know how I'd
record, treat, or use video rendered exclusively to a VGA monitor. I'd
rather use one of the standards so I could record and interface to
other gear. I think that one would separate video, process the color,
scan, etc, then put them back together. True, it does sound like a bit
of work.
Some of the older units I have heard of are like elaborate
"wobblevisions", just modulating the X and Y scans, and maybe hue
controls, the resulting video would then be re-recorded into a video
camera. I read somewhere that some people refined this process to
modulating the X and Y scans of a vidicon tube in old video cameras,
that way the camera output was a standard signal.

There are always tradeoffs, like me always having far more time than
money. If your career is doing well you might still beat me to it. Too
bad I didn't gravitate to cheaper interests, like a harmonica or
etch-a-sketch or something. Maybe I'll get a real job someday!

Same here. So I decided I'd introduce the topic at SDIY, good guess
that more than a few people here had considered this before. Good luck!
