Right.  But the frequencies wouldn't necessarily have to be varied 
dynamically for this to be interesting.  You could set up the freq ratios 
as part of the instrument "patch".

That's partly why I was asking about dropping some of the lower harmonics 
and adding higher ones.  You could do some things that are very difficult 
to do by subtractive synthesis.  Just a thought. :-)
