[sdiy] noob questions

Thanks guys, just the answers I was looking for. Im very excited to do 
something with audio, I figure if i start this way, I can integrate it in to 
my existing kit right now, and just build on it over time. I think ill start 
off with a filter and possibly an envelope follower, then an lfo. Anyone 
want to recommend an envelope follower for the inexperienced? Im building 
Thorstens midibox, so my soldering is getting pretty good, but beyond that 
I'm pretty new to electronics. Also I must say that I am on many lists, and 
this one is great.
