[sdiy] Mystery transistor--help!

Hi

Perhaps one of you could help me identify this transistor. It is really hard 
to read so I tried my best to get the correct info off of it. NTE and web 
searches have turned up nil (MPS made me think Motorola)..

Here's what is printed on the part:

MPSU
25@       <- the @ is actually a circle with a little triangle inside. 5 may 
be the letter "S"
M806

It is TO-92 and in the circuit is mated to a NP3565 (2N2222/NTE 123A) NPN so 
it looks to be a compliment to this, perhaps similar to a 2N2907???
