Actually, Tom Scholz was pretty darn proud of his Hammond organ playing. I
believe the Hammond was mentioned in that disclaimer, in glowing terms of
endearment. Also, remember that Scholz had invented a lot of custom signal
processing gear to get the "Boston sound". This makes Harry's earlier
comment about Queen especially appropriate, if applied to Boston. Tom
Scholz might not have used a synth with keys, but there was so much signal
processing and special effects, that the whole band practically formed one
large composite, distributed synthesizer. :)

By the way, does anyone remember which album from The Eagles had the
notice, that the album was made *without* using an Aphex Aural Exciter? The
Aphex was pretty popular at the time, and for some reason, they made a
point of telling the world that their album didn't use one. I always
wondered what they had against the Aphex unit, and why it was such a big
deal to them, that they had to tell the world they didn't use one?

take care,
Glen
