Assuming you are reffering to a cable management system, i.e. the comb is 
not used as a terminal of any sort, perhaps this 
http://cableorganizer.com/neat-patch/ is similar to what you describe.

Speaking of patch cables; i am trying to decide on a suitible gauge 
moog-spec modular. I know I always have problems when i use wierd gauges or 
lengths. Is this going to affect the signal qaulity at all? I am alsoo 
curious about ground-shielded cables, how to implement that and whether it's 
at all neccesary. 
is there a standardized module plate size, on the y axis? I like conforming 
to standards. 

p.s. i don't know if i am doing this email properly, i am a noob. sorry if i
