[sdiy] TR606 MIDI mod... like Colin Fraser's for TB303?

I haven't done it, but I have been trying to. Not for a 606, but rather
a KPR77. A few months ago I got my first MCUs, some PIC 16f84. By going
over other people's code I have gotten triggers to output, but decided
I don't like the lack of velocity. This means I'll need to make a basic
DAC/multiplexer type thing, which I don't know how to code yet. I was
thinking of tinkering with this some more this week.

MIDI output from the KPR77s funky sequencer is crucial also. I'd be
surprised if I could do six inputs and six outputs well with a 16f84,
and using two of then just seems silly. I am new to MCU stuff so I need
to figure out what I am doing. Maybe a faster PIC with UART and more
I/O would be a good choice. And learning to code.

I know that my newbie antics are probably not of much help to you, but
I am trying to do something similar.

BTW, thanks for your input on the EFM MIDI-Gate! This was my first
interface between my MIDI sequencers and analog gear, which has been a
lot of fun.
