Hi All

Has anyone used anything like this to wash boards?

http://www1.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=NA1008&CATID=&keywords=alco
hol&SPECIAL=&form=KEYWORD&ProdCodeOnly=&Keyword1=&Keyword2=&pageNumber=&
priceMin=&priceMax=&SUBCATID=

or should i just stick to plain old iso alcohol?

Also is this worth putting on a board after completing it?

Thanks
Brett

	- Moisture can mix with flux to form hydrochloric acid.

	- Workpiece inspection is both easier and more thorough if the
joint is clean.

I was taught to clean the pcb, component leads, and solder with
isopropyl alcohol just before soldering to remove any surface
contaminants, as well as after soldering to remove flux. The flux is not
intended to be a general cleaning agent, it is to remove any oxides
present at the time of soldering, most of which is due to the heating
of the metals. Also that I should cut the solder with wire cutters,
rather than just pulling/bending it to break off pieces, as this
stretches the solder and leaves sections without flux.

	- is the purpose just to remove the flux thats left after
soldering and what happens if you dont wash it off? or are there other
reasons?
