When I built my FatMan, I didn't wash the flux off. About a year later
it looked very... grimy on the other side, was covered in dirt and dog
hair that was sticking to the flux, and parts of it were changing color
or corroding.
I scrubbed just the solder side with a toothbrush and some rubbing
alcohol after that, and it's been fine and good looking ever since.
