I just saw both Chick and Herbie this last winter here in Toronto. In
both cases, in addition to the mandatory 9' grand piano, they had sweet
synth set-ups. Chick also played a very tricked oot Rhodes. Herbie's
rig was G5 based and so were the horn players' synth rigs. Brecker is a
very sweet sax player and he also played a very crowd pleasing EWE solo:
very funky.
People who live in Memphis and complain aboot access to live music need
to contect with their inner blues, man. ;-)
