[sdiy] cool synth uses for super high-speed op-amps & high-speed differential amplifiers?

i am not very knowledge able with a lot of the technical issues involved ... 
but i have been thinking of thru-zero FM ...if you could feed a audio input 
into a thru-zero oscillator and use the audio as a modulator ...that would 
require fast op amps i am sure ...but thinkking that these are for video it 
may just be a waste ...just my feedback
