[sdiy] Soaking keys to remove filth and paint speckles - what solution?

I've used cotton ball dabbed with lighter fluid to safely remove paint.
Have a clean and rinsed rag to clean off residue.
Do this outside.

The first thing I do when I buy a used synth is remove every key and soak in a pail
of dishsoap overnight. I then rinse and let air dry on paper towels.

Alot of work but well worth it.

I can't stand crusty gear !
