I think that better matched caps give better
performance (assuming that you mateched transistors
first).  IMHO the resonance characteristics (self
oscillation over greater range) are better.

Polystyrene caps are always better in filter circuits
(where dielectric absorption and temp. stability could
be an issue).

when I say 'better' I mean having more precise
and repeatable characteristics.  Some like MORE
distortion etc. For that use a BBD   :^P
