I'm sure it's a great tool, but this is not the way I want to do
this. I don't want any sophisticated tools, only the machine and
assembly language. I don't want to deal with the mysteries
created by other programmers (and the head scratching problems
caused by those programmers). It's sort of the "make a discrete
OTA from transistors or use an LM13700", both are realistic
approaches, both can work. Also, I don't want to dedicate a 500
MHz box to this if I don't have to. Also, as I said: I DO NOT
WANT TO DO THIS UNDER WINDOWS OR LINUX.

For some. Not for me. I may try it, but that's not where this
project is going. I want as much of this to be _mine_ as possible.
I don't know how much you know about me, but I'm a FatMan guy. I
have two of them and I like them. I've been asked more than
once, "Why don't you build an ASM-1?". I like the FatMan. I
don't like the heat problems associated with expo. I'm a
maverick, I just don't do things the way everyone else might.
But I'm encouraged by what comes out of the speakers in my
studio/lab when I do music with the "junk" I build.

Go figure, under Windows. I'm not surprised.
