Hello Heitor,

I was just kidding with you. I hope you weren't offended. ;)

The truth is, we don't talk about him primarily because he didn't design or
build synths. However, if you wanted to post a brief message about him, not
many people would mind at all--especially if it generates an informative or
educational thread, instead of an argument over personal taste.

For example, there were a few posts recently about which Tomita record
would make a good introduction to Tomita. Although that was technically
off-topic, most people didn't seem to mind a _few_ posts about the famous
synth player. I think the main reasons people didn't mind were: the
discussion was kept informative, and it didn't turn into an argument. It
also didn't run too long. (That's important for off-topic threads to be
accepted.)

So if you had posted that you had been listening to a particular album by
Jarre, and explained why you found it to be inspirational, practically no
one would have cared that the post was off-topic--as long as the thread it
generated didn't run too long, or turn into a big argument.

Of course, if you are building a synth that is well-suited to creating the
sorts of sounds that Jarre would have used, by all means let us know more
about it. ;)

take care,
McLilith
