Although Jarre didn't build any of his own stuff, his technician and 
fellow composer, Michel Geiss built a great many things that Jarre used 
on his early albums.

For one of my Oakley modules I tried to clone the instrument that Jarre 
used to obtain the phased chords you hear all over the first two LPs. 
This is basically a modified EH Smallstone. I think I nearly got there.

Personally, the first 12 minutes of the second side of Equinoxe is the 
finest piece of synth music ever written. And it probably determined the 
career I would take later on in life. It certainly had a huge impact on 
my own musical output. One person who listened to one of my CDs said that 
this is what Jarre should have been sounding like if he hadn't had 
discovered fireworks... :-)
