I don't have a 606. My 707 had a compartment for AA batteries to retain
the memory. I just ran the wires to a square of perfboard with a CR2032
coin cell on it. I drilled a hole on a corner of the perf so I could
use one of the PCB screws to fasten it into place. It has worked great
for the past two years, and I have been able to use the AA batteries
for other things - like the DR110.
What is a little different with a TR-606 is that the batteries are not
just for memory, it runs off of the batteries. So you might want to put
a diode between the battery and board to keep it from acting weird, but
it might just be ok.
Good luck, and good evening -
