Hi listers --
I got ahold of some LM13700 and NE5517 samples and took a quick look at
them from the viewpoint of the Iabc linearity. Happily, all the devices
had acceptable performance, with non-linearities under 2%. Some of the
13700's even came in at ~0.2%.
So why the discrepancy with the results on the 13600's I reported
before? I believe the difference may simply be the grade of the
device. The present 13700 and 5517 devices are primo "AN" parts, whereas I
only have 13600's in the vanilla "N" grade.
Bottom line? The current devices can be pretty good if you pay up for the
high grade "A" variety and if you are willing to select for critical
parameters such as feedthrough and linearity.
