Hey everybody,
My Cracklebox is almost done and I have a couple questions about it. First
off, it is sounding pretty good... except for the fact that it picks up
radio a little. Not too bad, and it depends on if I'm going into a mixer
or straight into a speaker (less radio through the mixer). Which brings me
to my other question... is there any danger of electrocution because of
going into the mixer? I know that with only the 9V battery and a speaker I
am in no danger, but I get a little scared feeling in my stomach when I
plug into the mixer which is plugged into the wall and then start fiddling
with contact points. I have been safe about it so far, but I want to know
if I can use my hands on it if I'm going into a mixer.
Also, re: the "line out" question, before I even tried anything else, I
just went straight from where the speaker would have been (my pac-tec
enclosure is too small for a speaker) to the output jack and into the mixer
and it worked absolutely fine. After all the fuss and emails about
schematics, etc... I may try it with a little Shadio Rack transformer I
have, but it doesn't seem necessary.
I followed this schematic: www.eam.se/kraakdoos except I left off the
optional C6 and I wired the LED up seperately.
The first few times I started it up it was in oscillation before I even
touched anything, which threw me off, but that seems to have stopped.
Thanks for all your support with parts and stuff, everyone...
Very satisfying making some noise last night.
Rafael
