Hi All
I picked up a minimoog VCO board yesterday and am thinking about making
it into a 3 vco module in dot com format as I understand it is pretty
much self contained with all the wave shaping circuitry etc so I should
just be able to wire pots to it and jacks to interface with vca's etc.
With the size of the pcb I think its going to have to be 6 units wide so
the board can sit flat behind the face.
I've been told it's a good idea to thermally link the two chips on the
board and was thinking about doin it with a piece of aluminium. I was
also thinking it might be a good idea to place the 3 tempco's across
this as well and the guy I bought it off thought it would help stability
too...does this sound like something worth doing or just a waste of
time?
Also he suggested replacing the two 3821n's with ca4036's or ca3086's
which are apparently a modern drop in equivalent but better....does this
sound right?
The board is missing one tempco and I can see they are 1k +-3% types but
are they +3300ppm or what? The only other marking I can see is q81 and
11-73 which I assume is the manufacture date. I'm thinking of replacing
all 3 with the same type but wanted to confirm what they are.
The one big thing I guess I need is the pin outs of the PCB connectors
so I can wire pots, cv and power connections etc to the front panel. If
anyone has this I'd really appreciate it ;) or thinks this wont work for
any reason let me know.
Cya
Brett
