I'm talking about a driven clock line in this case...should have made 
that clear.  The CPU in the thing which has ROM mask on board makes some 
kind of decision to drive that clock line to the appropriate state in 
order to latch the data on the chip that is being given it at the time.  
I would hope.  I tried x10 even and it didn't work.  BTW.....Scope 
probes.  I keep meaning to ask.  I got these that were supposed to be 
150mhz from Parts express and they've gotten me by with some repairs 
over the years but..I think they aren't all that hot.  Anybody have 
recommendations there?   Most of what I've done over the past years just 
hasn't required quality probes.  -Bob
