(posted to both synth-diy and music-dsp - I think it's relevant to both)
First off, let me say I really enjoyed the Synth DIY UK event this
year! Thanks to everyone who tolerated this clueless newbie poking
around at their gear, to all the people I met and talked to, and to
Tony for the great presentation. And I'll be there next year too, for
sure... hopefully weighing less and with better hair :)
And thanks to SDIY-UK, I'm now in possession of a Turtle Beach Fiji
soundcard - well, it was sold as a soundcard, but in fact it appears
to be a general DSP development platform that just happens to be
optimised for making sound; the DSP56002 is fully programmable (within
software limits) and I've already found some example source code. Who
needs a Chameleon...? :) I'm looking forward to having a good play.
Hopefully by SDIY 2008 I might actually have something to show for
it... (not the fastest coder in the world, me)
And one last thing. Does anyone have any of the following:
* information on programming the Dream SAM9407 DSP chip, on the
instruction level, that lives on the Terratec EWS64 that I also picked
up?
* the original DOS editor for the Evolution EVS-1?
* the EVS-1's SysEx specification?
* any suggestions on what to do first with 22 MIPS of DSP? :)
(For the last two, I emailed Evolution 2 weeks ago, but they've not
replied yet; and I can't find anything on the Web for any of them.)
Regards
Helen
