Laurie and all,
Wow, people actually listen to what I say, could be scary. I mentioned
trapezoidal integration at work the other day and people went a scattering.
I have had experience with a Synthacon in the 80s and it was a lot of fun
and I enjoyed the sound. The resurfacing of the filter at Ken Stones' CGS
has stimulated interest in it and it seems to have gained a large following.
Might want to go to the CGS Yahoo group or scan the synth-DIY archives to
find out more.
Anyways, the reason that I suggested the Synthacon filter is be cause of
it's uniqueness. You get LP, HP, BP and with some creative mixing something
similar to an all pass/phase shifter (I personally haven't done this but
have read about it multiple times). I think that it would be something that
people really into tweaking the sounds could warp out with. Much more than
with traditional filters.
Best of luck with the new board!
