Well...yes you could...although...I would be asking "Would you want to use 
the part"?  If the matching is over 1 mV and the part costs 
say....$4...there are better alternatives.  The MAT-04 from analog devices 
and the THAT3xx parts from That Semiconductor are reasonably priced and 
high performance.  Also, you can just glue together a pair of 
2n3904's...without even testing them...and probably get just as good a 
match....but if they only cost 50 cents a piece...well that is a horse of a 
different color...I would probably even go for them at that 
price...well...maybe... :-)
