Hi yall,
I purchased a broken ADS Model 10 Acoustic Dimension Synthesizer a while
back for dirt cheap. I was getting interested in the DIY stuff and saved it
as a future project in my closet.
Since then, I've completed a year and a half of university and my first
electronic project - www.oveloe.com/loop/ - I am now gathering information
on this ADS so I can have an idea on the amplitude of the project, I have
never done some repair work yet.
The ADS is a very particular unit, it seems like it's a digital delay but it
has built-in stereo amp with speaker outs. Anyways, this thing weighs a lot
for a digital delay. When opening it up, I found some burn marks on one of
the PCB, a big burn under 2 transistors and a bunch of small ones under
resistors (see pics below). I'm wondering if this could be simply fixed by
changing the components that caused the burn of if things could be more
serious than that.
Anyways, any help is appreciated as I am still a padawan. Any other feedback
on the sound of this unit will also be appreciated as I have been curious to
hear what this thing sounds like since I got it.
