Perhaps you're being to severe in ref to the word "paradigm".  It has
succinct meaning and is less wordy than alternative expressions of the same
idea.  Also as our culture dilutes into McDonalds/Wal-Mart/Industrial
slavery, any portion of traditional western literacy that can be saved is
worth the effort.
