That's because it rots the mind; people don't think while watching
television. When they read books or even listen to old radio shows,
the mind is working to create imagery, etc. When watching television,
the brain basically acts as a sponge, does it not? Perhaps it's a
good thing that most television shows broadcast and carried by cable
networks are mindless rubbish, since that helps some people to watch
less television.

People actually sit around watching other people do that? What's the
point? Well, I guess that since large numbers of people sit around
watching men in strange looking tights stand around scratching their
private parts, tossing balls around a field and spitting, that
shouldn't be very surprising. What's truly unsettling is that such
people vote, which explains much.

Because, with regards to most people, it's a sensible hypothesis.

your brain, which is also apparently in better condition than his is.
