You've noticed that too, eh? Gone are the days, alas, when music (as
opposed to irksome noise) and creative videos were broadcast on MTV,
and when great 'B' movies were shown at night, with names like "Zombie
Chicks at the Slimeball Bowlarama," and when Doc Dememto and Night
Flight were on the air... it all seemed to go down-hill fast fairly
soon after Tipper Gore and other tight-assed nanny-state promoters
launched an attack on Rock & Roll with their senate "Porn Rock"
hearings.
Now, one can't even find the Tom & Jerry, Flintstones or Roadrunner
cartoons anywhere for a good laugh, and most of the programming
consists of dramas, cop shows, war moview, sci-fi war movies, paid
advertisments, religious channels, frequently
inaccurate/incomplete/biased newscasts, "ethnic" & foreign-language
channels, etc. (YAWWWWWWNNNN, excuse me) ...for about $60 a month...
television programming aimed at people who don't know the difference,
whose bodies and brains are being destroyed by legal psychotropic
drugs like Prozac, Ritalin, Paxil, etc. pushed by physicians, the
pharmaceutical industry, etc. with the support of politicians like
Bush (and his "New Freedom Initiative") whom the pharmaceutical
industry back.
Getting this back on topic, surely all that mind-numbing rubbish has
some effect on the decine of the elctronics hobby as well as what's
happening to post-1980's music ... and as far as SDIY, how does
everyone view it as being affected by new and often meocre to horrid
music... music with whiny or mindlessly wailing singers, repetitive
music (due to the use of sequencers?), etc.?
How does everyone here view how the decline in music quality has
affected, is affecting, or is about to affect SDIY?
